A spacious 2 storey, 2 bedroom cottage nestled in a group of five cottages, facing the central courtyard. It has a tiled living area with a leather three piece suite, dining table and five dining chairs, TV, Freeview and DVD players; selection of books and games. Centrally heated and double glazed throughout and fully equipped for 5 people. It has in addition a free standing bar freezer.

Bath towels, hand towels and bed linen are provided in all our holiday accommodation, and the beds will be made up ready for your arrival.

The washing machine, tumble dryer and chest freezer are located in the Laundry Room (no charge).

' I selfishly don't want to write this review so we can keep this absolute gem hidden for ourselves! An absolutely fantastic stay, Anita was present but not invasive and showed us how everything worked so no searcing for manuals! We felt right at home (including our chihuahua who couldn't escape the garden!) it was like visiting family. The cottage was equipped with everything you need - kitchen was stacked with pristine equipment, not grubby old pans and mismatched utensils - ideal for cooking. Bed was super comfy, spotlessly clean everywhere and the views - heaven. Powerful hot shower. The gate off the back garden to the forest of dean was amazing, we saw deer's and wildlife, no stress of parking/driving. Hot tub was well maintained, welcomed with a little prosecco and milk which made us feel at home. Folder containing lots of information which was so useful. A short drive to town where there is a big Tesco and the best Thai we've ever had outside of Thailand (NG Thai). We will be back '

' Lovely stay in Magpie cottage. Staff all lovely, accommodation very clean and well equipped. The location of the site is great for visiting the forests, Gloucester etc. Local supermarkets and petrol station in Lydney, a short drive away. Hope to visit again in 2027! '

' A very enjoyable stay. Great access for mountain biking and hiking, straight into parts of the forest and 40 minutes ride to the Forest Centre. The cottages are very well maintained and some freshly refurbished. Has everything you need included and more. The sports hall addition was a joy. Our hosts could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Such nice people to deal with. Flexible and efficient. Top notch. '
