''Nice for walks in the forest, steam railway down in the valley is well with a visit, and can be reached on foot, (a little over an hour's walk).'' |

''Walked to Lydney through ten acre wood and dropped in to the honey bee cafe. Small but friendly even with 2 little dogs. We walked a long walk to the rising sun pub for lunch through Pillow Well village and amazing woodland. Would recommend this pub. Steam train ride with the dogs was fun and a lovely walk at Mallard Pike. A superb site that was quiet and peaceful. Just what we had hoped for and more.'' |

''Don`t arrive between 3pm and 4pm as you approach via a school lane and it can be quite tricky with a car never mind a whole unit in tow because of all the cars parked while picking up their loved ones from school. Look out for loose sheep wandering about at the roadside.... quite a novelty'' ''Go on a mini adventure by taking a walk out the side gate that leads directly into the forest. Nearby Beechenhurst is a great location for kids and adults alike. Play area, cafe and various routes to take a walk including a Zog trail and sculpture trail.'' ''We visited over a weekend and enjoyed walking in the forest, cycling the family friendly tracks. We hired bikes from the Pedalaway centre before arrival and found the service great. The forest tracks are great for all levels of rider and it was easy to remain off road for the whole day.'' ''Make note of recommended directions on approach to site.'' |
''Great for mountain biking & dog walking.'' |
''The walks in the forest direct from site were very muddy but there had been a lot of rain Forest walks are easily reached by a short walk although steep into Pillowell This part of the forest was generally clear of mud. The steam railway in nearby Parkend is worth visiting which is about a 3 mile walk from the site.'' |

A long walk through the Forest helps to appreciate life.''
''It's the perfect place if you love walks or cycling and a peaceful quiet surrounding. The Rising Sun pub isn't far and the food is amazing if you want to eat out.''
