- Mobile Phones, the Internet and WiFi, Forest of Dean
I expect most of you can’t wait to escape from your phone and the internet, and be blissfully out of touch for a while, especially from work! However, for those of you who need to keep in touch, a new BT line has now been installed at Deanwood Holidays for the express purpose of enabling our holiday guests to have WiFi internet access.
- Cycling in the Forest of Dean, and bringing your own bike
There are miles of cycle paths criss-crossing the Forest of Dean, both family-suitable cycle paths and ones specifically for the more experienced mountain biker. Here at Deanwood Holiday Cottages we have maps and leaflets in the office which you are welcome to borrow, not only of cycle paths in the Forest of Dean but also cycle paths or suggested cycle routes along the Wye Valley, around Gloucester, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Cotswold villages.
- Access Statement – Deanwood Holiday Cottages
Deanwood Holiday Cottages are located on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, three miles from the nearest town of Lydney and half a mile from the village of Yorkley. Deanwood Holiday Cottages have mainly been converted from three stable blocks grouped around a central courtyard. Altogether there are 6 two storey holiday cottages, and 7 ground floor holiday cottages available. The ground floor cottages are more suitable for those with reduced mobility. The site is level with concrete paths between the cottages, the laundry and the car park. The car park itself has a chipping surface. The site is lit at night as well as having PIR sensor lights over the approach, the car park, and by the laundry.
