Magpie Cottage. A recently renovated one bedroom bungalow tucked away in the corner of the courtyard. With full central heating this is a cosy cottage whatever the time of year. Magpie Cottage has an open plan lounge/ kitchen /diner with a leather sofa and a Poang ‘rocking’ chair to relax and unwind at the end of the day. There is a colour TV with integral DVD and Freeview, and a selection of books and games to entertain you.

    Magpie Cottage has an open plan lounge/ kitchen /diner with a leather sofa and a Poang ‘rocking’ chair to relax and unwind at the end of the day. There is a colour TV with integral DVD and Freeview, and a selection of books and games to entertain you. The kitchen is well equipped with full size oven, hob, larder fridge, microwave, toaster etc. The washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer are located in the Laundry Room (no charge).
    There is a dining table with two dining chairs.

    Magpie Cottage has one double bedroom. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, pedestal washbasin and toilet.
    There is parking for one car close by in the carpark . A second car can be parked in a further car park at the rear of the bungalow..
    Bath sheets, hand towels and bed linen are provided in all our cottages, and the bed will be made up ready for your arrival.
    The interior of this cottage is all on one level with no steps inside. There is one doorstep outside. For our Access Statement please refer to our ‘Information & Help’ page above.

    Holiday Accommodation comprises:
    Ground floor:
    Open plan Lounge /dining area / kitchen. Leather settee, Rocking Poang chair, Dining table with two chairs.
    Bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and bedside drawers.
    Bathroom with shower over bath.

    Dogs are welcome in this cottage.

    Magpie Cottage, Deanwood Holidays, Forest of Dean Holiday accommodation, 28 July – 1 August 2017. ‘Had a wonderful few days in this cosy , lovely little cottage, amply equipped for the two of us.The whole site is extremely clean and tidy and the surroundings are very tranquil. We had a really nice walk through the woods at the back and a 6.5 mile walk from Fancy View through the Forest of Dean. Saw lesser woodpecker, jay, squirrels, buzzard, fallow deer, lots of little woodland birds and though we didn’t see a wild boar there was plenty of evidence of their presence. What a lovely area. Such a shame our stay was so short. So nice to find a pet-friendly place that allows cats. One of our boys needed more intensive care and would not cope with staying at home with a sitter so it was such a relief to find Deanwood Cottages that allowed me to bring all the family and enjoy our short holiday with peace of mind that my cats were safe. See several deer, foxes, wild boar and lots of sheep just wandering around the villages. We went to church in Parkend – the Anglican church where the vicar and everyone else were very welcoming! Sorry to leave again, going back to the noise of city life …. but singing birds are everywhere (and London has got lots of foxes, not as ‘red’ as here but still the same kind of animal).
