Birds in the Forest of Dean

Spot the Goldcrest! Paul & Rebecca did well to spot this bird in the forest and photograph it.

Black Cap, against a clear blue sky. What a wonderful day in the Forest of Dean.

Female Crossbill. The Crossbills live amongst the pine trees in the Forest of Dean.

The Crossbills use their beaks for getting into the pine cones. Below is the male Crossbill.

Paul & Rebecca also spotted the Hawfinch with its distinctive orange cap.

The Female Chaffinch blends in well with its background.
